| 成果简介 | NOVELTY - Sequence defined macromolecule (SDM) (V), is new. USE - Sequence defined macromolecule (SDM) (V) having antibacterial activity against a Gram-positive Bacillus subtilisand a Gram-negative Escherichia coli. ADVANTAGE - The SDM having an amine NH-R3moiety that imparts cationic character in the SDM; and the SDM possesses dithiocarbamate skeleton that acts as an abiotic backbone to prevent the proteolytic degradation of the SDM. The SDM exhibits an antibacterial activity having Minimum inhibitory concentration (MIC) in a range of 3-4000 µg/mL. The SDM exhibits % hemolysis of 11-20% at a concentration of 3-400 µg/mL. The hydrophobic character of the monomeric sequence bearing the amine (NR2) moiety and the cationic character of the amine (NH-R3) moiety in the SDM maintains an amphiphilic balance for interaction with bacterial cell membrane to exhibit the antibacterial activity. The method of synthesis of the SDM uses cost-effective and readily available starting materials without the need of any separate monomer synthesis. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Sequence defined macromolecule (SDM) having formula (V), is new. R1, R2, R3=ethyl group, propyl group, isopropyl group, butyl group, hexyl group, decyl group, cyclohexyl group, benzyl group (R-CH2-C6H5), methoxy -substituted benzyl group (-CH2-C6H4OCH3) or nitro-substituted benzyl groups (-CH2C6H4NO2); n=monomeric sequence having aliphatic, cyclic or aromatic groups attached to nitrogen atom (NR2moiety) that imparts hydrophobic character in the SDM and is having value of 2-10. An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for a method for synthesis of the SDM (V). |
