USE - Solar powered water distillation system. ADVANTAGE - The basin is made of 0.5 mm thick blackened copper sheet, and the black marbles inside the basin are used to store heat and improve the system's overall efficiency by enhancing heat transfer. The system is highly efficient, producing up to 7.32 liters of fresh water per square meter per day, with 72.02% energy efficiency. The system is capable of producing clean, drinkable water from saline and contaminated sources. The system utilizes solar photovoltaic panels to power an electric water heater, thus making the system more sustainable and reducing reliance on external energy sources. The process effectively distills saline water, ensuring high-quality output and improved overall system efficiency. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - The solar powered water distillation system has: a saline water storage tank (1) to store saline or contaminated water; a water lifting pump (2) to the storage tank for transferring water from the storage tank; a strainer filter (3) connected downstream of the pump to filter out larger foreign particles from the water; a cold water pipeline (4) connected to the strainer filter for directing the filtered water, and having a regulating valve (6) for controlling the water flow; a water sprinkler (5) positioned to spray water on the dome surface of a distillation chamber (10) attached to the pipeline, and for distributing the water and reducing the steam temperature, thus aiding in the condensation of water vapor on the inner surface of the dome; a solar photovoltaic panel (7) connected to an electric water heater (8) which is configured to heat the water using power from the photovoltaic panel; distillation chamber (10) with a polycarbonate glass cover (9) arranged above it, where the cover is designed to transmit maximum solar radiation while minimizing heat loss; a basin (11) positioned inside the distillation chamber and made of blackened copper and filled with heat storage material in the form of black marbles to enhance thermal efficiency; a fresh water collection tank (13) connected to the distillation chamber for collecting condensed drinkable water (12); and a data logger (14) coupled with thermocouples (15) to monitor and record real-time temperature and energy efficiency of the system during the distillation process.
