成果简介NOVELTY - Waste-derived marigolds floral carbon dots-based gel comprises carbon dots synthesized from marigold flower extracts via a hydrothermal method; and a biocompatible polymer matrix, where the polymer is Carbopol(RTM: Crosslinked acrylic acid polymer). USE - Waste-derived marigolds floral carbon dots-based gel for wound healing, surgical, diabetic and traumatic wounds, having anti-inflammatory effects, enhances angiogenesis as evidenced by increased CD-31 expression in treated tissues. Test details are described but no results given. ADVANTAGE - The waste-derived marigolds floral carbon dots-based gel enhances biocompatibility, provides eco-friendly practices, reduces environmental impact and promotes the use of renewable resources, reduces swelling and discomfort associated with wounds, enhances angiogenesis, promotes the formation of new blood vessels in the wound bed, ensures the gel has a longer shelf life while maintaining its effectiveness over time, allows for easy application on various wound types, ensures good adherence to the wound site and facilitating optimal healing conditions, reduces production costs, making the gel a more affordable option compared to conventional wound care products, low cytotoxicity at effective concentrations, suggesting the gel can be safely used in various clinical scenarios without harming surrounding healthy tissues. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for a method for preparing the wound healing gel which comprises: (a) crushing marigold flowers to obtain a homogeneous mixture; (b) extracting phytochemicals from the crushed flowers using a 50% ethanolic solution; (c) concentrating the extract using a rotary evaporator; (d) subjecting the concentrated extract to hydrothermal treatment at 160℃ for 6 hours to produce carbon dots; and (e) mixing the carbon dots with Carbopol(RTM: Crosslinked acrylic acid polymer) and water to form a gel.
