成果简介	NOVELTY - Suppressing nitrification comprises (a) separating algae and sludge in a reactor using a cloth; and (b) providing light to both the algae and sludge compartments, and preventing proliferation of nitrifiers in the sludge chamber from being shielded by the algae and achieving nitrification suppression, where waste is selected as municipal wastewater. USE - Method for suppressing nitrification used in wastewater treatment process. ADVANTAGE - The method improves the efficiency and sustainability of wastewater treatment while producing value-added algal biomass, prevents free mixing of algae, provides an easy, quick, scalable and cost-effective method to suppress nitrification in algae-sludge wastewater treatment systems. The system maintains a high level of treatment performance over an extended period. The method offers an innovative solution to current limitations in algae-based wastewater treatment. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for a wastewater treatment reactor, comprises first compartment for sludge; second compartment for algae; cloth separator between the compartments; for providing controlled light intensity to both compartments; and for controlling dissolved oxygen levels in each compartment to suppress nitrification and enhance treatment performance; and where the light intensity is maintained around 400 µmol/m2/s.
