ADVANTAGE - The pots creates a favorable and antimicrobial environment in the soil for the plantlet to flourish, and provides a ecofriendly and nontoxic plant for transplantation. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for a method for preparation of improved biodegradable plant pots, which involves: (a) Mixing chaffed crop with paper pulp in the ratio 1:1; (b) Adding clay soil into a mixture of chaffed crop and paper pulp with continuous stirring in the ratio 2:1; (c) Making a homogenous slurry by adding water in the mixture; (d) putting the slurry in the appropriate size molds and sun drying slurry in molds to make pots; and (e) coating the inner sides of the pots with microbial consortia followed by adding soil for seeds/plantlets/seedlings.
