ADVANTAGE - The system creates sustainable alternatives to conventional plastics, significantly reduces plastic pollution by utilizing biodegradable materials, provides a cost-efficient and scalable production method for algae-based bioplastics, making the process economically viable for industrial applications, minimizes the use of arable land and freshwater, instead utilizing non-arable land and saline water. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for a method for producing biodegradable plastics, which involves: (1) cultivating algae in controlled environments such as photobioreactors or open ponds; (2) harvesting the cultivated algae using at least one of filtration, centrifugation, or flocculation; (3) extracting biopolymers including polysaccharides and lipids from the harvested algae using chemical or mechanical processes; (4) converting the extracted biopolymers into bioplastics through at least one of polymerization or fermentation; (5) processing the obtained bioplastics into plastic products using manufacturing techniques such as injection molding, extrusion, or film casting.
