成果简介NOVELTY - Synthesizing palladium nanoparticles (PdNPs) involves using catechol as a reducing agent. USE - Method for synthesizing palladium nanoparticles used for the degradation of azo linkage compounds or for one-pot imidazole synthesis (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The nanoparticles can be recycled and reused for multiple cycles, demonstrating consistent catalytic activity in the degradation of azo dyes and conversion of toluene to benzaldehyde. The nanoparticles exhibit enzyme-mimicking activity, acting as a laccase-like enzyme, and are able to efficiently convert toluene to benzaldehyde while degrading azo dyes to smaller, simpler molecules. The use of catechol as a reducing agent results in a lower synthesis cost compared to the production of laccase enzymes and enables the use of the palladium nanoparticles as recyclable, heterogeneous biocatalysts. The nanoparticles can be stored at room temperature, in contrast to free enzymes which require refrigeration at 4°C, providing a more stable and cost-effective solution for industrial use.
