The solar-powered insect traps offer a sustainable solution for controlling insects in outdoor regions at where access to electricity is limited. Fly infestations are effectively eradicated or deterred by UV light, where the system does not require a constant source of electricity for saving money on electricity bills. Solar panels collects and stores energy in rechargeable batteries, where system ensures continuous operation even during cloudy conditions. USE - Automated UV sterilizing dustbin system for mitigating pandemic-causing diseases e.g. malaria, dengue fever, dysentery, and other insect-borne illnesses, in manual waste handling in outdoor settings e.g. gardens, patios and public spaces (all claimed). ADVANTAGE - The system reduces population of disease-carrying insects that breed in waste-filled trashcans, thus lowering the risk of diseases e.g. malaria, dengue fever, dysentery, and other insect-borne illnesses.
