| 成果简介 | NOVELTY - The green corrosion inhibitor composition comprises munj grass extract in a concentration of 1-5 % v/v, where, the munj grass extract results in the formation of cathodic passive film over the exposed surface of steel. USE - Green corrosion inhibitor composition used for preventing inhibiting corrosion in steel in harsh environment (claimed), i.e., method to inhibit corrosion of a steel surface. ADVANTAGE - The green corrosion inhibitor composition inhibits corrosion in steel with an inhibition efficiency of 86-90 %. The green corrosion inhibitor composition with and without sodium hydroxide exhibits a corrosion inhibition efficiency of 86 % and 90 %, when applied over the DSS2205, where the corrosion rate is tested with 3.5 % brine solution. The green corrosion inhibitor composition exhibits a corrosion inhibition efficiency of 90.67 %, when applied over the DSS2205, where the corrosion rate is tested with 3.5 % brine and CO2solution. The green corrosion inhibitor composition exhibits a corrosion inhibition efficiency of 87 %, when applied over the DSS2205, where the corrosion rate is tested with 15 % hydrochloric acid (HCl) solution. The inhibitor is eco-friendly, nontoxic in nature, and cost-effective. The green corrosion inhibitor is easily available, and it will help in the upliftment of employment in the nearby areas where it is available. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for: (1) a method of preparing the green corrosion inhibitor composition, which involves providing dried barks of munj, adding dried barks of munj to a solution comprising NaOH, refluxing the solution for 3 hours (h) at 100-150 °C to obtain the raw munj extract, and cooling the raw munj extract for 8 h to attain room temperature followed by filtering the solution to obtain the green corrosion inhibitor composition; and (2) a method of preventing inhibiting corrosion in steel in harsh environment, which involves coating the steel with the green corrosion inhibitor composition. |
