| 成果简介 | NOVELTY - Non-fluorinated polymeric surfactant comprises an unsaturated monocarboxylic acid, and a coumarin monomer. The unsaturated monocarboxylic acid is 95-70 mol.% methacrylic acid (MAA). The coumarin monomer is 5-30 mol.% 7-methacryloyloxycoumarin (CMMA). The unsaturated monocarboxylic acid and coumarin monomer are copolymerized to form polymeric surfactant. The polymeric surfactant is poly(methacrylic acid-random-7- 15 methacryloyloxycoumarin) (poly(MAA-r-CMMA)). USE - Non-fluorinated polymeric surfactant used for emulsion polymerization of hydrophobic monomers with reduced critical micellar concentration. ADVANTAGE - The non-fluorinated polymeric surfactant is sustainable, facile and efficient method for synthesizing polymeric surfactant, and achieve controlled emulsion polymerization of a wide variety of monomers, i.e., acrylate, methacrylate, and styrene, yielding nearly a monodispersed polymer latex. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for a method for synthesis of a non-fluorinated polymeric surfactant, which involves: (a) taking 0.200-0.205 mmol of a coumarin monomer, 0.04 moles of 4- cyano-4-(phenylcarbonothioylthio)pentanoic acid (CPPA) and 0.0082 mmol of azobisisobutyronitrile (AIBN) to 1.5-2 mL of a solvent in a round bottom flask to form a reaction mixture;(b) adding 1.845-1.846 mmol of an acrylate monomer to reaction mixture of step (a) under inert conditions subjecting to polymerization to obtain a polymerized mixture;(c) subjecting polymerized mixture obtained in step (b) to precipitation in 40-50 mL of cold hexane by filtering and 20 drying overnight at a temperature of 60℃ under 10-3bar vacuum to obtain a dried precipitate;(d) taking 0.038-0.039 mmol of dried precipitate obtained in step (c) with 10 mol% of the coumarin monomer in a round bottom flask and dissolving 19-20 mL of dichloromethane (DCM) by adding 25 38 mmol of trifluoroacetic acid (TFA) and stirring at a temperature of 25℃ for 24 hours to obtain a solution mixture; and (e) subjecting solution mixture obtained in step (d) to precipitation by filtering and drying overnight at a temperature of 60℃ under 10-3 bar vacuum to obtain non-fluorinated polymeric surfactant, where the coumarin monomer in step (a) is 7-methacryloyloxycoumarin (CMMA), the solvent is 1,4-dioxane, the acrylate monomer in step (b) is tert-butyl methacrylate (TBMA), the polymerized mixture obtained in step (b) is poly(tert-butyl methacrylate) -random-7-methacryloyloxycoumarin (poly(TBMA-rCMMA)), and the non-fluorinated polymeric surfactant obtained in step (e) is (poly(MAA-r-CMMA)) that is obtained by selective hydrolysis of tert-butyl group of acrylate (TBMA). |
