成果简介NOVELTY - Extracting (100) silicon granules from a photovoltaic cell, comprises: cutting (110) the cell into pieces of a predetermined dimension; immersing (120) the pieces in a solvent for changing a state of an adhesive; performing (130) heat treatment on the pieces for segregating the adhesive from the pieces; and performing (140) a dry ball milling process through a dry ball milling machine for extracting the silicon granules. The method further comprises performing a wet-ball milling process on the silicon granules in a liquid medium through a wet-ball milling machine to reduce a granular size of the silicon granules and for removing traces of adhesive, succeeding to the step of leaching the silicon granules, where the liquid medium comprises ethanol. The adhesive is an ethyl vinyl acetate binder. The step of immersing the pieces in a solvent comprises immersing in toluene solution. The step of performing heat treatment comprises exposing the pieces to a pulsated microwave treatment. USE - The method is useful for extracting silicon granules from photovoltaic cells, which is useful in lithium-ion batteries for electric vehicles. ADVANTAGE - The method: enables efficient extraction of silicon granules from photovoltaic cell with high energy density characteristics; enables efficient charging of lithium-ion battery along with efficient discharging of power during operation of electric vehicle; and is quite controllable i.e. various parameters associated with the process of chemically treating the spent photovoltaic cells are controllable and hence the method is time saving.
