成果简介NOVELTY - Enhancing biogas production from cotton seed hulls (CSH), involves pre-treating the CSH with sulfuric acid (H2SO4) at a concentration of 3 wt.%. USE - Method for enhancing biogas production from cotton seed hulls for improving efficiency of anaerobic digestion processes. ADVANTAGE - The method shows as increased biogas yield of 120±9 ml/g VS. The treated CSH yields 3-4 times more biogas compared to untreated CSH. The biogas yield is comparable at 1 wt.% and 2 wt.% H2SO4 concentrations, which result in approximately 106±11 ml/g VS and 106±9 ml/g VS, respectively, and biogas yield difference between treated and untreated CSH is observed as 73 ml/g VS, 73 ml/g VS, and 87 ml/g VS for 1 wt.%, 2 wt.%, and 3 wt.% H2SO4 concentrations, respectively. The pre-treatment of CSH aligns with biogas yields from similar lignocellulosic materials treated with H2SO4. The maximum biogas difference is observed at 34 ml/g VS for 3 wt.% H2SO4 treated CSH and untreated CSH at a 75:25 (CD:CSH) ratio.
