This integration allows structural components to generate electricity without the need for separate solar panels. USE - The method is useful for embedding photovoltaic cells directly within concrete building materials i.e. walls, facades, pavements and roofs. ADVANTAGE - The method: allows structural components to generate electricity without the need for separate solar panels; utilizes concrete as a protective layer for the photovoltaic cells, shielding them from environmental factors i.e. UV radiation, weathering and physical impacts, hence this protective encapsulation extends the operational lifespan of the photovoltaic cells compared to traditional solar panels; customizes concrete-based photovoltaic systems with various colors, textures and patterns, thus allowing them to blend seamlessly with building designs, hence aesthetic flexibility distinguishes the system from conventional photovoltaic installations that often disrupt architectural aesthetics; and utilizes combination of concrete's thermal mass and embedded photovoltaic cells that enhances a building's thermal insulation, reducing heating and cooling demands, hence this integrated approach contributes to the overall energy efficiency and sustainability of the building.
