| 成果简介 | NOVELTY - Preparing an adsorbent composite involves (i) washing and air-drying sugarcane bagasse at room temperature; (ii) crushing the dried sugarcane bagasse into small pieces and grinding them into a coarse powder; (iii) drying the coarse powder at 80 °C for 24 hours in ambient air; (iv) cooling, grinding, and sieving the dried powder using a mesh size of approximately 50(~0.3 mm nominal sieve opening) to form a bio-adsorbent precursor material; (v) subjecting the bio-adsorbent precursor material to microwave pyrolysis (MPS) at 540 watt (W) for 20 minutes; (vi) cooling the pyrolyzed product, washing, and drying it at room temperature for 24 hours, (vii) mixing the biochar with zinc oxide (ZnO) in a 5 wt.% ratio in the presence of ethanol; (viii) ultrasonically treating the mixture for 1 hour to form a ZnO-biochar composite; (ix) evaporating the ethanol, washing, and centrifuging the resulting composite to obtain the adsorbent. USE - Method for preparing an adsorbent composite for removal of cationic dyes such as malachite green dye from textile wastewater (claimed). ADVANTAGE - The composite exhibits a high adsorption capacity for cationic dyes, including Malachite Green dye; where the composite is characterized by the presence of surface-active sites and functional groups that facilitate dye adsorption through hydrogen bonding, electrostatic attraction, and/or Van der Waals forces. The composite can be regenerated and reused for multiple cycles of dye removal by microwave pyrolysis; where the composite is capable of effectively removing cationic dyes from textile wastewater at various pH values, initial dye concentrations, and contact times; where the adsorbent composite exhibits rapid adsorption kinetics and can achieve high dye removal efficiency in a short period of time. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Preparing an adsorbent composite involves (i) washing and air-drying sugarcane bagasse at room temperature; (ii) crushing the dried sugarcane bagasse into small pieces and grinding them into a coarse powder; (iii) drying the coarse powder at 80 °C for 24 hours in ambient air; (iv) cooling, grinding, and sieving the dried powder using a mesh size of approximately 50(~0.3 mm nominal sieve opening) to form a bio-adsorbent precursor material; (v) subjecting the bio-adsorbent precursor material to microwave pyrolysis (MPS) at 540 watt (W) for 20 minutes; (vi) cooling the pyrolyzed product, washing, and drying it at room temperature for 24 hours, (vii) mixing the biochar with zinc oxide (ZnO) in a 5 wt.% ratio in the presence of ethanol; (viii) ultrasonically treating the mixture for 1 hour to form a ZnO-biochar composite; (ix) evaporating the ethanol, washing, and centrifuging the resulting composite to obtain the adsorbent; where the microwave pyrolysis is performed at a power of 540 W for 20 minutes; and the zinc oxide (ZnO) is added in a 5 wt.% ratio to the biochar for enhancing its adsorption capacity. An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for an adsorbent composite for the removal of cationic dyes from wastewater, comprises biochar derived from sugarcane bagasse and zinc oxide (ZnO), where the zinc oxide is present in a 5 wt.% ratio and is impregnated into the biochar by ultrasonication. |
