| 成果简介 | NOVELTY - Continuous-flow packed-bed bioreactor comprises cylindrical reactor column filled with beads of Pseudomonas aeruginosaimmobilized in a sodium alginate matrix (3), and cross-linked with calcium chloride (CaCl2), where the immobilized beads filled in a packed-bed configuration. The inlet (1) for introducing methylene blue-contaminated wastewater into the reactor; and outlet (2) for discharging treated effluent; and system for maintaining optimal environmental conditions to support microbial degradation. USE - Continuous-flow packed-bed bioreactor used for methylene blue degradation in effluent water. ADVANTAGE - The continuous-flow packed-bed bioreactor provides a robust, sustainable, and efficient solution for the degradation of methylene blue in wastewater, offers cost-effective, and eco-friendly alternative to conventional methods, and reduces operational costs and minimizes the need for frequent bioreactor maintenance or replenishment. The bioreactor provides enhanced operational stability, protects the microorganisms from environmental stressors and toxic dye concentrations. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - INDEPENDENT CLAIMS are included for: a method of preparing the beads of P. aeruginosa comprises providing a suspension of P. aeruginosa in a sodium alginate solution (2-4% 25 w/v); drop-by-drop pouring of the suspension into a solution of calcium chloride (0.1-0.2 M) to induce ionic cross-linking, forming spherical beads; curing the formed beads the CaCl2 solution for 30-60 minutes; and washing the beads with sterile water to remove excess CaCl2 to obtain the beads of P. aeruginosa; and a method of degrading methylene blue in effluent water comprises providing a bioreactor as; feeding the bioreactor with polluted water containing methylene blue through the inlet; contacting the cylindrical reactor column with the effluent containing methylene blue to degrade the methylene blue under suitable conditions having a temperature of the system is controlled within the range of 25-37°C; and pH of the system is controlled within the range of 6.5-8.0; and collecting the treated effluent water and the deposits from the degradation of methylene blue from the reactor by the outlet.
