成果简介NOVELTY - The method involves implementing a closed-loop control strategy to suppress circulating currents within a modular multilevel converter (MMC)(102). A model reference adaptive control (MRAC) strategy integrated with a proportional-integral (PI) control method is utilized to estimate and adaptively manage parameters from a load. A sorting algorithm is implemented along with MRAC to optimize switching actions of the MMC. Capacitor voltage imbalance is minimized through a sensor-based technique, to reduce voltage deviations and improve system efficiency and stability of a MMC-fed induction motor system. Magnitude of arm currents is minimized, and generation of even harmonics is reduced. USE - Method for enhancing performance of a MMC-fed induction motor system for high-voltage and high-current applications. ADVANTAGE - The MRAC fed induction motor system minimizes the peak value of circulating current and sub-module capacitor voltage balancing so as to improve the performance of the MMC. The method achieves lower total harmonic distortion (THD) values, thus contributing to improved system stability and reduced harmonic distortions, and hence highlighting potential to address the challenges associated with circulating current management in high-voltage and high-current applications. The emthod ensures minimizing the peak value of circulating current and sub-module capacitor voltage balancing so as to improve the performance of the MMC.
