A fastening arrangement updraft conical biomass retort is fastened within the outer insulated enclosure by a fastening arrangement such that a gap is created between the outer insulated enclosure and the updraft conical biomass retort forming a converging space from bottom to top between the outer insulated enclosure and the updraft conical biomass retort. USE - Biomass charcoal machine. ADVANTAGE - The biomass charcoal machine has maximum conversion efficiency and less pollution in making charcoal, takes less time for making of good quality of charcoal using less amount of fuel. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - Biomass charcoal machine comprises an updraft type conical biomass retort, an outer insulated enclosure comprising a provision for fastening the updraft conical biomass retort inside and securing the chimney at the top, a perforated inner tube or duct comprises multiple of holes which gives the passage to gas flow and the flow of heated air in and out, a chimney, an opening for a furnace, a lid, a converging passage for flue gas. A fastening arrangement updraft conical biomass retort is fastened within the outer insulated enclosure by a fastening arrangement such that a gap is created between the outer insulated enclosure and the updraft conical biomass retort forming a converging space from bottom to top between the outer insulated enclosure and the updraft conical biomass retort. An updraft conical biomass retort facilitates the easy escape of flue gases and ensures uniform heating of the entire biomass inside the retort and the gas produced during the biomass-to charcoal conversion escapes through the inner perforated duct to the furnace which enhances the fuel combustion rate. An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for a method of operation of the biomass charcoal machine which involves placing the biomass intended for charcoal production in the conical retort fitted with an inner perforated duct and sealed airtight using a lid at the top, burning the fuel in the furnace attached at the bottom, such that the heat from the flames heats the biomass in the retort, said heating converts the biomass into charcoal and the flue gases from the furnace escape through the chimney at the top, where the conical-shaped retort facilitates the easy escape of flue gases and ensures uniform heating of the entire biomass inside the retort, the gas produced during the biomass-to charcoal conversion escapes through the inner perforated duct to the furnace which enhances the fuel combustion rate.
