| 成果简介 | NOVELTY - Colorimetric detecting (100) manganese(II) by using polyvinylpyrrolidone capped silver nanoparticles (PVP-AgNPs), comprises adding (102) 0.2 ml silver nitrate in 200 ml double distilled water, stirring for 10 minutes, adding (104) 19 mg solid sodium borohydride in a mixture at a room temperature to obtain a colloidal solution, adding (106) 1 ml aqueous solution of 1 mM PVP and stirring for 10 minutes to obtain the stabilized solution, storing (108) the solution in dark to obtain PVP-silver nanoparticles, and using the prepared nanoparticles configured to detect manganese(II) by visual detection, UV-visible spectroscopy and particle size analysis with varying environmental conditions. Sodium chloride solution of 0.1-1% is prepared and added to 1 mM manganese(II) to determine the effect of salinity on the PVP-AgNPs/manganese(II) system. Sodium hydroxide and hydrochloride solution is added to manganese(II) to determine the effect of pH on PVP-AgNPs/manganese(II) system. USE - The method is useful for colorimetric detecting manganese(II) by using polyvinylpyrrolidone capped silver nanoparticles. ADVANTAGE - The method: is capable of detecting manganese(II) in aqueous systems using qualitative and quantitative method; is capable under varying conditions; has high sensitivity and selectivity, which may lead to accurate measurements, especially in complex matrices with interfering substances; can be used to diagnose prostate cancer in a subject based on the detected content of spermine in a urine sample obtained from the subject; and is cost-effective and does not require any skilled operator/or person.
