| 成果简介 | NOVELTY - The method for preparing jute fabric-based plaster cast material for orthopaedic immobilization, involves (a) hydrophobic modification of jute fabric to reduce moisture regain capacity and make fabric hydrophobic using treatment methods selected from alkali treatment, acetylation, wax coating, silane treatment, or radiation grafting; (b) synthesis of polyurethane prepolymer by thermal polymerization of stoichiometric excess of diisocyanate and polyol, where diisocyanate is selected from diphenylmethane diisocyanate, polymethylene diisocyanate, or carbodiimide modified diisocyanate, and polyol is selected from polyethylene glycol, polypropylene glycol, or polybutylene glycol, with an NCO/OH molar ratio of 1.2:1 to 4:1; 20 (c) coating of synthesized polyurethane prepolymer onto the surface of the hydrophobically modified jute fabric; and (d) Packaging resin-coated fabric in a metallized aluminium pouch under vacuum conditions. USE - Method for preparing jute fabric-based plaster cast material for orthopaedic immobilization. ADVANTAGE - The Jute natural fiber offers has biodegradability, easy availability, low cost, high strength, and low density. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for method of using an orthopaedic immobilization device as a bandage, involves (a) dipping bandage in water for a duration of 30-40 seconds; (b) squeezing bandage to remove excess water; c) Wrapping or molding bandage around affected body part to provide support and immobilization; and d) Allowing bandage to cure or harden within 6 to 7 minutes and become weight-bearable within 15-16 minutes, where curing process involves reaction of resin coated on the fabric surface with water to form solid poly(urethane urea). |
