| 成果简介 | NOVELTY - Recovering copper from electronic waste involves irradiating electronic waste with an electron beam (E-beam) at a dose ranging from 10-25 kGy, where the electronic waste including printed circuit boards (PCBs) waste, treating the irradiated PCBs with a polar aprotic solvent selected from dimethyl formamide (DMF) and dimethyl sulfoxide (DMSO) at a temperature ranging between 120°C and 160°C, for varying time 40-180 minutes, washing the treated PCBs with water and air drying to separate the copper from non-copper materials, regenerating the solvent for reuse in the treatment process, and analyzing the purity of the recovered copper by inductively coupled plasma optical emission spectroscopy (ICP-OES). USE - Method for recovering copper from electronic waste. ADVANTAGE - The method enhances recovery efficiency while addressing environmental sustainability in electronic waste management, and minimizes environmental pollution, improves the efficiency of metal extraction processes through innovative techniques that involves radiation technology, potentially increasing recovery rates compared to traditional methods. The method eliminates or significantly reduces the use of toxic leaching agents, such as cyanide and thiourea, in metal recovery processes thereby ensuring safer operations and reducing health risks. The method requires less energy compared to pyrometallurgy methods, contributes to a lower carbon footprint and overall sustainability. The method can effectively handle varying grades of e-waste, including low-grade and difficult-to-process materials, ensures a broader application of recovery techniques.
