ADVANTAGE - The dual-layer food packaging system offers an eco-friendly alternative to conventional food packaging, provides an improved food packaging system that not only reduces environmental impact but also enhances food preservation, promotes sustainability by utilizing biodegradable and edible materials, reduces reliance on traditional plastic packaging and minimizes waste. The system prolongs shelf life and ensures that the food remains fresh longer. The system offers protection without harming the environment, as it degrades naturally and ensures consumer safety and free from harmful chemical. The system offers safe, and functional packaging solution. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for a method for manufacturing a dual-layer food packaging system comprises preparing an edible inner package by mixing seaweed-derived components comprising 20-30 wt.% carrageenan, 10-15 wt.% alginate; and 5-10 wt.% agar; adding 30-45 wt.% plant protein components; incorporating 5-11 wt.% natural antimicrobial compounds; blending 8-13 wt.% natural plasticizers; heating the mixture to a temperature range of 70-80°C; casting the heated mixture into a film; and drying film under controlled conditions, and preparing a protective outer sleeve blending modified cellulose components comprising carboxymethyl cellulose having degree of substitution 0.7-0.9, hydroxypropyl methylcellulose type 2906 and 25 microcrystalline cellulose having particle size 50-200 microns ; incorporating biodegradable polyesters comprising polylactic acid having molecular weight 80,000-100,000 g/mol, polyhydroxyalkanoates having 50-70%, crystallinity and polybutylene succinate having molecular weight 50,000-70,000 g/mol; adding functional additives comprises easy-tear additives, anti-static agents, and UV protection compounds, and extruding the mixture at a temperature range of 160- 180°C; and forming the extruded mixture into a sleeve structure. |
