成果简介NOVELTY - Converting waste polythene covers and pine wood into valuable products, involves (a) feeding a mixture of waste polythene covers and pine wood into a pyrolysis reactor at a specified biomass-to-plastic (B/P) ratio, (b) subjecting the mixture to thermal pyrolysis or co-pyrolysis at temperatures ranging from 180-350°C to produce crude oil, gaseous fuel, and solid char, (c) collecting the crude oil produced in step (b) for further processing, (d) performing fractional distillation of the crude oil at a temperature of 150-300°C and (e) analyzing the physicochemical properties of the distillate oil fractions. USE - Method for converting waste polythene covers and pine wood into valuable products. ADVANTAGE - The method provides co-pyrolysis process for converting waste polyethylene covers and biomass into valuable energy products, using a batch-type pyrolysis reactor, with enhanced gas yield compared to conventional thermal pyrolysis, optimizes the biomass-to-plastic ratio (B/P ratio) in the co-pyrolysis process, particularly focusing on the 0.2 ratio, to maximize the yield and quality of the resulting oil, gas, and solid char, develops a method for fractionating the crude oil obtained from co-pyrolysis using a laboratory-scale distillation unit, ensuring the separation of valuable fractions suitable for use in petrol or diesel engines, and evaluates the quality of the fractionated oil, including its density, viscosity, flash point, fire point, and calorific value, to assess its suitability as an alternative fuel for internal combustion engines. The method increases the gas yield and enhance the overall energy output of the process while maintaining a sustainable and cost-effective method for converting waste polyethylene and biomass into usable fuel and energy products. The method contributes to sustainable waste management by utilizing waste polyethylene and biomass as feedstock, reduces environmental pollution, and providing an alternative fuel source.
