成果简介NOVELTY - The system has a working electrode, a reference electrode, a counter electrode and a power supply, where the working electrode is selected from a group consisting of carbon coated, graphene coated, titanium and zinc oxide coated-conductive high surface electrode. The reference electrode is reversible hydrogen electrode (RHE), saturated calomel electrode (SCE), silver/silver chlroide electrode. The counter electrode is selected from a group consisting platinum, conducting carbon and combination. The power supply is selected from a group consisting of battery, potentiostat, voltage source, solar cell, direct current (DC) power supply unit and combination. The working electrode material coats at the interior of the radioactive delay decay tank. The working electrode in multiple segments are incorporated into the radioactive delay decay tank. USE - Electro catalyst system for selective capture and conversion of iodide to iodine used in hospitals. ADVANTAGE - The system can use cost-effective electrocatalysts for efficient, selective, scalable, rapid capture of iodide ions from mixed ion environment, and subsequently converting it to iodine for easy removal. The electrocatalyst developed is also cost-effective and reusable up to 50 cycles. Besides, the developed electrode materials are extremely thin and require significantly less space for storage, compared to other methods. The system is scalable, cost-effective, highlyselective and efficient for the removal of radioactive iodide from bio-waste. The selective removal of radioactive iodide from the delay tank in the presence of other mixed halides and metal cations and anions. The developed electrocatalyst involves affordable material, design and manufacturing processes which shows efficient performance and durability at a lower overall cost, making suitable for the application of the removal of radioactive iodide from the delay septic tank in the hospitals. The rapid iodide capture and conversion reaction occurs within a minute using a simple DC cell/battery. The straightforward setup is cost effective, making it ideal for the removal of iodide instead of a costly setup a simple technique is used to carry out the process. The electrode developed provides excellent performance without undermining the quality making best fit to implement to meet the need. DETAILED DESCRIPTION - An INDEPENDENT CLAIM is included for an electrochemical method for selective capture and conversion of iodide to iodine.
