成果简介NOVELTY - Synthesizing silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) using Euphorbia cotinifolialeaf extract, involves preparing an aqueous leaf extract, mixing it with a silver nitrate solution, and controlling reaction conditions for nanoparticle synthesis. USE - Method for synthesizing silver nanoparticles (AgNPs) using Euphorbia cotinifolialeaf extract, having antimalarial activity against Plasmodium falciparum. The antimalarial activity of nanoparticles was tested against Plasmodium falciparum. The result showed that nanoparticles exhibited EC50 value of 0.75 µg/mL. ADVANTAGE - The method is eco-friendly, scalable synthesis. The nanoparticle induces oxidative stress in the parasite by generating reactive oxygen species (ROS), disrupts mitochondrial activity, and impaires antioxidant enzyme functions, promotes apoptosis-like death in infected red blood cells, enhances their therapeutic efficacy.
