A radio frequency identification (RFID) enabled card (5) is detected by an RFID sensor (4) for alternative authentication. The biometric data is retrieved by a bank server (11) from database by validating credentials, and logs transactions. Biometric samples are processed by a multimedia module. Sample quality is assessed by an evaluation module. Transaction details for a user (12) is displayed on a machine UI (8) on an automatic teller machine (ATM) authenticated via biometrics or RFID. USE - Facial recognition method for an ATM system used in banking industry for financial transactions such as shopping, paying bills, and withdrawing money. ADVANTAGE - The method enables processing and storing transaction data in an appropriate repository, thus ensuring high security while allowing authorities to investigate fraud without compromising user privacy. The method allows a server to process and store transaction data and biometric samples without user-identifying information in the database, so that the database stores anonymized transaction details and the biometric sample without user identifying information in an effective manner.
