| 成果简介 | NOVELTY - The method involves receiving speed data from a global positioning system (GPS) sensor associated with the mobile device by an ACM on the mobile device. The speed data indicates a current speed of the vehicle. A determination is made on that a user of the mobile device is occupying a driver seat of the vehicle using occupant identification data. The restriction command is generated by the ACM when the computing indicates said current speed is above the predefined threshold speed and the determining indicates the user is in the driver seat. The telephonic function of the mobile device is restricted in response to the restriction command. The incoming calls are blocked. The ongoing calls are disconnected. The telephonic function is enabled by the ACM when the speed computed is below the threshold speed or when the user is not occupying the driver seat. USE - Method for controlling telephonic communication on mobile device used by driver of vehicle. ADVANTAGE - The stakeholders better approach the goal of reducing preventable collisions tied to the global phenomenon of driver distraction by continuing to refine occupant identification techniques, sensor-based alerts and smart call-handling policies. The ACM automatically enables the dial option when the driver does reduce speed below the threshold, thus allowing the user to complete the call. The system inherently motivates drivers to slow down or park before engaging in extended phone conversations by linking telephonic privileges to vehicle speed. The direct cause-effect relationship provides a more tangible deterrent to distracted driving than mere warnings or financial penalties.
