| 成果简介 | NOVELTY - 2-(4-(((4- chlorophenyl)amino)methyl)piperazin-1-yl)-1-(10H-phenothiazin-10- yl)ethanone, or its salt is new, where the compound is synthesized by: (a) reacting 1-(10H-phenothiazin-10-yl)-2-(piperazin-1-yl)ethanone with 4-chloroaniline in the presence of formaldehyde (37%) in ethanol; (b) refluxing the reaction mixture at a temperature of 80 °C for 10-12 hours with continuous stirring; (c) monitoring the completion of the reaction using thin layer chromatography (TLC); (d) cooling the reaction mixture by pouring it onto crushed ice to precipitate the product; and (e) filtering and purifying product by recrystallization from aqueous ethanol to obtain. USE - 2-(4-(((4- chlorophenyl)amino)methyl)piperazin-1-yl)-1-(10H-phenothiazin-10- yl)ethenone for providing antibacterial activity against pathogenic bacterial strains and combating resistant bacterial infections. The antibacterial activity of 2-(4-(((4- chlorophenyl)amino)methyl)piperazin-1-yl)-1-(10H-phenothiazin-10- yl)ethanone was tested against bacterial strains using the cup plate method. The result showed that 2-(4-(((4- chlorophenyl)amino)methyl)piperazin-1-yl)-1-(10H-phenothiazin-10- yl)ethanone exhibited Zone of inhibition value of 16 mm against Pseudomonas aeruginosa. ADVANTAGE - The compound preparation process is straightforward, cost-effective, and utilizes readily available starting materials, addresses antibiotic resistance, precipitation facilitates by pouring the reaction mixture onto crushed ice that enhances yield and purity, recrystallization using aqueous ethanol that provides high purity crystals. |
