成果简介NOVELTY - The system has a smart drug dispenser node (100) which is equipped with a Banana Pi development kit (107), a stepper motor with a motor driver, a 64GB Micro SD card(101), USB(universal serial bus) camera module (102), a 7-inch thin film transistor (TFT) touch display (103), a buzzer module (104), a stepper motor with motor driver (105), a real-time clock (RTC) module (106), an infrared (IR) proximity sensor (108), a load cell (109) and a power supply (111). The IR proximity sensor is integrated in the smart drug dispenser node and detects patient interaction during medication retrieval. USE - Intelligent Internet of Things (IoT)-enabled system for smart drug dispenser with artificial intelligence (AI)-Based dose scheduling and remote monitoring used in homes, eldercare centers and clinical settings. ADVANTAGE - The system enables automated drug dispensing, intelligent dose scheduling and real-time patient monitoring, enhances healthcare efficiency in home and institutional care settings, medication adherence and remote healthcare delivery significantly, patient adherence and safety through AI-driven scheduling, real-time alerts and accountability and transparency by incorporating visual verification through an onboard camera, load cell-based weight validation and automatic logging of every dispensing event, confirms precise and timely medication intake by automating dose scheduling and dispensing based on personalized treatment plans, reduces the risk of missed doses, overdosing, or underdosing significantly, the burden on caregivers and medical staff and the need for manual pill administration and routine supervision, ensures that the correct dosage is delivered and consumed at the appropriate time, supports remote monitoring and intervention by allowing caregivers and healthcare providers to track medication intake, receive real-time alerts on missed doses, and make timely adjustments to therapy schedules from any location, ensures a reliable medication audit trail and provides a user-friendly and accessible interface with a touchscreen display, audio-visual alerts, and intuitive prompts easily for elderly, visually impaired, or cognitively challenged individuals to manage medications independently.
